An account by Captain E. V. Tempest, of the war stories of the 1st 6th Battalion of the Prince of Wales' Own West Yorkshire Regiment, for which Tempest worked as an intelligence officer.
Tempest worked, partly, from diaries kept by soldiers, and is speculated to have kept his own. He is noted by the New Yorker for his unique writing style, and striking voice in documenting his time in the trenches, and beyond.
Features a monochrome frontispiece, in addition to 40 monochrome plates.
Closed tear to plate p.33.
No sign of plates xvii-xx, xxix-xxxii, no evidence of removal.
Occasional evidence of folding to pages.
Condition
Bound in original brown cloth. Externally, smart. Joints going. Wear to spine, and extremities. Rubbing to boards, affecting the legibility of the title. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, very occasional spotting and handling marks.
