This work explores the history of the Ward of Cripplegate, considered one of the most important boundaries within London.

A detailed ward history that traces the development of Cripplegate from its origins as part of Roman and medieval London to its role in the civic and commercial life of the city.

With a frontispiece and vignettes throughout.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Fading to back strip, with light edgewear to back strip head and tail. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Tipped in signed letter to front free endpaper, with presentation bookplate to following leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
