    A collection of four works published as part of The King's Treasuries of Literature series. In cloth binding with gilt detailing to spine.

    The King's Treasuries of Literature republished editions of classic works in a high quality, modern form, ensuring it remained affordable. The general editor of these works was the British writer Sir A. T. Quiller Couch, who was most known for his monumental work The Oxford Book of English Verse 1250-1900.

    This collection contains a combination of works including The Story of the Iliad [c1921] and Adventures of Odysseus [1924], by F. S. Marvin, R. J. G. Mayor and F. M. Stawell. These two volumes dated from copies held on JISC. 

    Also included in this collection is Tales of Travel and Exploration by famous Anglo-Irish explorer Ernest Shackleton, and the Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen.

    With ownership ink inscriptions to The Story of the Iliad, Adventures of Odysseus and Tales of Travel and Exploration. Remnants of a booksellers label to Tales of Travel.

    Condition

    All four volumes in red cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with minor shelf wear. The occasional mark to boards and light rubbing to the extremities. Spine slightly cocked on The Story of the Iliad. Owners ink inscriptions to The Story of the Iliad, Adventures of Odysseus and Tales of Travel and Exploration. Remnants of a booksellers label to Tales of Travel. Owner stamp to front endpaper of Tales of Travel, with ink inscription to rear paste down. Age toning and the occasional mark to endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages clean with light age toning.
