Description
Publishers' Original Binding
The fifth impression of the Everyman's Library edition of the work.
This copy belonged to English author and artist Brian Aldiss, known for his science-fiction novels and short stories. Charmingly inscribed by Aldiss 'Olive gave me a shilling today for putting up a trellis in the garden- with it I bought this. Brian 31/1/51'. Underneath, his wife Olive has replied 'Alas! So underpaid. But I could never pay in kind for all the love and labour given for my sake. So as a symbol a shilling in no less adequate than a sovereign'.
Comprised of a collection of essays and meditations surrounding science, religion and philosophy from English polymath and author, Sir Thomas Browne.
Bound in the publisher's original cloth.
No. 92 of the Everyman's Library.
