The first edition of this work, one of only 3,000 copies of the first edition produced. In a scarce variant of the publisher's original cloth binding, with the Arrowsmith imprint logo to the back strip tail, and the title to the front board surrounded with a black border.

This variant is noted by Scott, 75.
