What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Folding Maps, Folding Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
A very scarce work.
A fascinating report on the 'British Mission on Dyestuff Factories in Occupied Germany', being the outcome of a post-First World War investigation by a British delegation into the German synthetic dye industry, particularly within the Rhineland and other areas under Allied occupation.
Volume II only of this report, being the plates volume.
Illustrated with twenty-seven highly detailed folding plates.
Collated, complete.
With the bookplate of the Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd Dyestuffs Division Library to the front pastedown.
Germany had dominated the global dyestuff market before the war through its advanced chemical manufacturing capabilities. The report assesses not only the industrial output and scientific progress made by these companies, but also the potential for British industry to compete.
