First edition. Scare work. Illustrated with a frontispiece and four plates. Collated complete. A detailed and comprehensive study of hygiene in Palestine through history, with chapters on habit, food, climate, water supply, common diseases, health conditions, diseases of the bible, and more. Written by Ernest William Gurney Masterman, a British member of the Royal College of Surgeons. With a preface by Alexander Macalister, an Irish anatomist and Professor of Anatomy at Cambridge University. Dated from the British Library.

Condition

In the original paper wraps. Externally, smart with light wear to the extremities and sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and occasional pencil annotation. Minor age toning to the endpapers.
