First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

First edition. Illustrated with four collotype plates and eleven illustrations after the author's drawings. Collated complete. An autobiographical work describing the author's love of game hunting and for Scotland, where he grew up. Written by John Guille Millais, a British naturalist, travel writer and artist remembered for the preciseness of his illustrations. Millais was a keen hunter, and especially reputable for his depictions of game birds.

Condition

In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting and minor age toning to the endpapers.
