Previously from the library of British architect and archaeologist John Homery Folkes, signed with love to a relative. Contains a 1962 Sunday Times article on the Villa Malcontenta  from a previous owner.

In each chapter, Phillipps and Bolton take the reader through the greatest Italian gardens across different villas and palaces in Italy, including the Vatican Gardens, Villa Medici, Pallazo Borghese, and the Boboli Gardens.
