First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce

A scarce volume, in which Thomas Hardy's 1914 work 'Satires of Circumstance' and his 1917 work, 'Moments of Vision', were published together for the first time.

Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece, and with a double page map to the rear.

This collection of Hardy's poems includes 'Poems of 1912-13' and 'Poems of War and Patriotism'.

With an advertisement leaf to the rear.

To the rear free endpaper, a former owner has neatly copied out poems by Walter Pater and Tennyson.

With the former owner's inscription of R. H. Gibbon to the front free endpaper.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Fading to back strip, and perimeters of rear board. Former owner's inscription to rear free endpaper. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, with only the odd light spot.
