1919 Inklings for Thinklings
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Decorative Binding, First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
A very smart edition of Susan Hale’s ‘Inkings for Thinklings’. Hale originally created and bound ‘Inklings for Thinklings’ herself for a benefit fundraiser for the Sanitation Commission in Boston in 1865. The one of a kind book was then sold off to the father of Caroline P. Atkinson. Ms Atkinson arranged for a facsimile reproduction of the original work to be published as this edition in 1919. Susasn Hale (1833 – 1910) was an American author, traveller, and artist. She travelled extensively, sketching and visiting the galleries of the world. Containing numerous delightful illustrations from Hale.
