This volume discusses the histories of the various regiments of the Lowlands, the most senior being the Royal Scots (the Royal Regiment), which was formed in 1633, tracing their histories up until the start of World War One.
With chapters on the 2nd Dragoons (Royal Scots Greys), the King's Own Scottish Borderers, the Scots Guards, The Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment), the Royal Scots Fusiliers, and the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), as well as on the disbandment of Scottish Regiments, and regimental music.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spine is faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light marks to the boards and spine. Minor rubbing to the joints and extremities. Spots to the endpapers. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots, to the first and last few pages.
