What Our Customers Say...
Description
The first edition. A very scarce work.
The material in this work was originally delivered as a lecture to the Royal College of Physicians of London in the same year.
Illustrated with two folding plates and numerous figures throughout.
A detailed look at the use of intravenous injections for wound shock, discussing the effects of low blood pressure, hemorrhages, experimental injection of acids and much more.
From English physiologist W. M. Bayliss, who presented a paper in 1916 on the topic after serving on the Royal Society Food (War) Committee. His theories of using gum-saline infusions into wound-shocked men assisted their recovery, where it was then shipped to the front.
