A wartime collection of the poems of Thomas Hardy. 'Moments of Vision' is an emotional poem looking the consciousness in the material world, and introspective short poem.
Many of the poems in this collection relate to Hardy's first wife, Emma, who has died in 1912. One touching poem is about his sister, who had also recently died, 'Logs on the Hearth'.
Hardy was a prolific poet, but is best remembered today for his Wessex novels, most especially 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles' and 'Far From the Madding Crowd'.

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart. Rear hinge is starting but firm. Dust wrapper is smart, with minor edge wear. Spine is age-toned. Light handling marks to the wraps. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
