'Corners of Grey Old Gardens' offers ten short pieces by various authors discussing the wonders of gardens, including 'Landscape Gardening' by Sir Walter Scott. 

Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, and seven colour plates, by Margaret Waterfield. Two pages of adverts to the rear.

'A Book of Sundials' intriguing monograph on sundials, looking at the beauty of their design, and at some of the mottos often seen on them, by Launcelot Cross. 

Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, seven colour plates, and monochrome illustrations. Colour plates are by Alfred Rawlings, the monochrome illustrations of famous sundials are by Warrington Hogg. Two pages of adverts to the rear.

Condition

In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, 'Sundials' lacks the backstrip, front board of 'Gardens' is detached but present. Light age-toning and handling marks to the boards and spine. Spine of 'Gardens' is age-toned. Minor bumping to the extremities, and to the spine of 'Gardens'. Wear to the backstrip of 'Gardens', lifting to the front joint. Front hinges are strained. Scattered spots to the endpapers. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
