This charming volume contains a single act titled 'The Pine-Tree', which comes from 'Sugawara denjon tenarai kagami', a historical tragedy from Japanese playwright Takeda Izumo.
Illustrated with in-text Japanese drawings reproduced from works held at the British Museum.
Condition
Bound in modern quarter calf, with cloth boards. Externally, with fading to the spine, otherwise very smart, with minimal shelf wear and faint white spots to the front board. Ex libris bookplate of one Cliff Parfit to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with the odd spot.
