'The Adoration of the Soldiers' is a short mystery play which was suggested to Emile Cammaerts during a visit to the Belgian trenches. It is written in the style of a traditional Nativity, being a genuine and simple story presenting the spirit of the soldier.
The play was written during the Second World War, with the aim to show similarities between the strength of the soldiers and the same sentiment which prompted the Crusades.
Written by Belgian playwright and author, Emile Cammaerts, with the English translation alongside the French by Tita Brand-Cammaerts.
Illustrated by six plates tipped-in, by Dutch painter Louis Raemaekers. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's smart white cloth binding, with a yapp edge. Lacking ties. Externally, excellent, with light bumping to the extremities and a little rubbing. The occasional light mark to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean.
