Collated, complete with sixty tipped-in colour plates, featuring beautiful watercolours from the author.
Palaces described here include Buckingham Palace, Sandringham, Kensington Palace and Windsor Castle. Also discussed here are the Boboli Gardens, Versailles, The Acropolis and many more.
Mima Nixon was an Irish watercolour artist and illustrator, who exhibited these works at a one-woman show by the Fine Art Society in 1914. Her work was also exhibited at the Bailiie Gallery in 1909, Wimbledon Art Exhibition in 1910, The Royal Academy, The Society of Women Artists and The London Salon.
This publication is dedicated to Queen Alexandra, who also owned the originals of several of the paintings reproduced here.
Condition
In the original decorative cloth binding. Externally, with fading to the spine, otherwise very smart, with mild bumping to the extremities. Handling marks to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting and scattered spots to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front free endpaper.
