'Mr. Britling Sees it Through' is lead by an alter ego of Wells, named Mr. Brilting. Britling lives in a fictional village, and the plot concerns the village and lives of its inhabitants.
The first part of this novel is set in June and July of 1914, the second part from August 1914 to October 1915; this setting of the novel results in a moving portrait of those affected by World War One.
This novel was one of the most popular during World War One, being described as a "courageous, truthful, and humane" portrayal of the war.

Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Light marks to the cloth, mostly to the fore edge of the front board. Light fading to the spine and extremities. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A few light marks to the cloth. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with scattered spots to the first and last few pages.
