Illustrated with eight coloured plates, two folding plates, a double page plate, and numerous monochrome illustrations throughout, including Hollar's map of London in 1666 which depicts the destruction caused by the fire of London. Also includes a loose facsimile of a map of the River Thames.

Bound in half vellum with marbled cloth to the boards. Externally very smart with bumping to the extremities and light handling marks to the vellum, with slight fraying and minimal marks to the cloth to the boards. Offsetting to the endpapers. Internally, binding tender in places with cords showing between pp. 154-155. Pages age toned and clean.
