The first edition of this work by I. W. Shklovsky, an internationally renowned journalist who wrote under the pen name "Dioneo".

Translated into English by L. Edwards and Z. Shklovsky.

Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-four plates, including a colour map to the rear of the work. Collated, complete.

With the former owner's inscription of H. Dyce Murphy, 1917, to the front pastedown. Herbert Dyce Murphy was an Australian adventurer and raconteur, best known for his participation in the Australasian Antarctic Expedition.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Fading to tail of front board. Inscription to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
