    The first edition in book form of this novel, which was first serialised in The Windsor Magazine from 1913 to 1914.

    The plot involves Quatermain going on a trek into Africa to find a mysterious flower, where he encounters Arabian slave traders, warrior tribes, cannibals, and a giant gorilla.

    Illustrated with a frontispiece and fifteen plates by Maurice Greiffenhagen. Collated, complete.

    With former owner's inscriptions to the front pastedown and front free endpaper.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original cloth binding. Boards bright. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with light rubbing to front joint head. Inscriptions to front pastedown, and front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages lightly age toned, with spotting to page perimeters throughout.
