The very scarce first hand account of the First World War by Granville Roland Fortesque, an American war correspondent in London for the 'Daily Telegraph' and artillery officer during World War One. Fortesque was also part of the Roosevelt family, with his his uncle being the uncle of President Theodore Roosevelt.
This work provides a record of some battle pictures in Poland, as well as a impression of the military and political situation in the Balkans during the war.
Undated, dated by copies held by the British library.
Library copy with library label to the rear pastedown.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, label remnants to the front cover, minimal marks to the boards, evidence of worming to the rear board. Rear hinge starting slightly after the front free endpaper. Minor worming to the pastedowns with library label to the rear. Internally firmly bound with generally bright pages and the odd spot and minor evidence of worming.
