What Our Customers Say...
Description
Colour Plates, Illustrated, Leather Binding, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding
New edition. Revised, enlarged, brought up to date, and fully illustrated. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, thirty-one colour plates, and numerous black-and-white images. Collated complete. Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management is an extensive guide to running a household in Victorian Britain, first published as a book in 1861. The recipes were highly structured, in contrast to those in earlier cookbooks, and although Mrs. Beeton died in 1865, the book continued to be a best-seller. This guide contains tips for cookery in all branches, daily duties of the mistress, hosting, trussing and carving, menu making, home doctor and sick nursing, the nursery, and more. Written by Isabella Mary Beeton, known as Mrs Beeton, an English journalist, editor and writer who married Samuel Orchart Beeton, an ambitious publisher and magazine editor. With publisher's advertisements to the front and rear.
