A very scarce first edition of this already very scarce war-time cookery book. No edition remarks.

Copies of the second edition state first published in January 1915, with the second edition published six months later. 

In the original cloth binding. 

An enlightening war-time cookery book, with tips for the average English family, such as money-saving advice for buying produce at the market, as well as recipes for soups, sauces, fish, entrees and vegetable dishes. 

Written by Ernest Oldmeadow, a wine merchant, journalist, newspaper editor, and novelist who published the science-fiction title 'Sea Bubble: A Fantasia' (1910), set in 1910 after a German invasion of England.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. With marks and handling marks to the cloth. Front hinge is tender. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright, with scattered spots throughout.
