With the first edition issue point of '1915' to the verso of the title page, as stated by Riall in 'A New Bibliography of Arthur Rackham'. Lacking the first issue point of the frontispiece mounted on dark green paper.

Bound in the publisher's pictorial green cloth.

The Rackham edition, with twelve striking, colour plates by noted illustrator, Arthur Rackham, known for being one of the leading figures in the Golden Age of British book illustration.

Collated, complete, with all tissue guards also present.

A wonderfully illustrated edition of Charles Dickens's celebrated festive tale 'A Christmas Carol', in which Ebenezer Scrooge is visited by well-meaning ghosts, in an attempt to persuade him to change his cruel ways.

Prize bookplate to the verso of the front endpaper.

Condition

Bound in the publisher's pictorial green cloth. Externally, sound, with rubbing to the joints and extremities, causing some fraying to the spine head. A little darkening to cloth and some discolouration to the spine. Hinges are strained. Book has a slight lean. Bookplate to the verso of the front endpaper. Internally, binding is strained, with textblock split in multiple places. Pages are bright and clean with just a few light marks. Tape repair to the gutter of the half title, reinforcing the hinge.
