In the publisher's original half morocco binding with cloth boards. Externally, generally smart. Rubbing and bumping to extremities and heads and tails of spines resulting in loss to morocco. Slight blistering to cloth boards. The odd slight handling mark and scratch to boards. Front free endpapers of volume II stapled together. Top right corner of half title repaired with staples, and to page 690. Blue colour pencil scribbles to rear endpapers of volume VI and III. Blue colour pencil scribbles to the editor’s preface of volume V, previous seller’s stamp to front free endpaper. Offsetting from staples. Slight fading to extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean with one or two spots, heavier to fore edge and first and last few leaves.
