First edition of this work. H. Rider Haggard writes of Olaf's adventures after challenging the Norse god Odin's right to a human sacrifice.

Sir Henry Rider Haggard was a famous English author known for his adventure novels set in exotic locations, and pioneer of the lost world literary genre. 

With four illustrations by A. C. Michael, including a full colour frontispiece. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with shelf wear, minor chipping and loss to head of spine, back strip lightly faded, bumped to tail of spine and extremities. Faint previous ownership inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, binding generally firm. Odd minor spotting to occasional leaf, otherwise pages generally very clean throughout.
