This volume covers the natural history, clubs and notable cups of pig sticking, a distinctive form of boar hunting. The author interlaces chapters on choosing/training horses, the art of spearing and characteristics of pigs etc. with correspondence and memoirs of other hunters.
Written by Alexander Ernest Wardrop, a British Army General who rose to high rank in the 1930s.
Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-six monochrome plates. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's original navy cloth, with gilt illustration to the front board. Externally, very smart, with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities. A couple small faint marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the occasional scattered spots, heaviest to the endpapers.
