This is Volume V of the 'Survey of London' series. This series was under the general editorship Sir Laurence Gomme and Philip Norman.
Part II only, of a total of two parts.
A detailed survey of the parish of St Giles in the Fields, an area in the London Borough of Camden, part of the West End, spilt today in the electoral wards of Bloomsbury and Holborn and Covent Garden. It was St Giles which was depicted in Hogarth's 'Gin Lane'.
Illustrated with one folding map to the rear, four folding plates, and one-hundred and two plates. Collated, complete.

Condition
In the original publisher's paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Wraps are edge worn, with small chips and tears. Loss to the tail of the spine. Wraps are a little age-toned with light handling marks and spots. Small tidemark to the fore edge of the front wrap. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with only a few scattered spots. Closed tears to the folding map.
