Illustrated throughout with a frontispiece, an illustrated title page, monochrome vignettes, full page illustrations and 4 full colour plates. Collated complete.
This work has been written by Francis Lenygon and celebrated architecture and decorative design in English homes from 1660-1770. The work looks at many elements of decorative design and architecture including ceiling art and intricate mouldings.
Undated. Dated by the preface and copies held at the British Library.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally generally smart with fading to the cloth, heaviest to the front and spine, marks to the boards, bumping to the extremities, and small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine. Minor cockling, offsetting, scattered spotting and a label dated 1944 to the front free endpaper, a very small tipped in newspaper clipping to the front pastedown and the odd closed tear to the rear. Internally binding tender in places. Pages generally bright with the odd mark and spot, heavier to the front and rear blanks.
