The first edition of this vanishingly scarce work.
Featuring scenes and real life stories from the Persian border, told in first person.
Illustrated with a frontispiece by Marie Molitor, a relation of the author.
With the bookplate of F. Diba to the front pastedown. Diba published a bibliography of Persia in 1981.
With the inscription of Allah Verdi to the front free endpaper, and with a former owner's inscription in ink to the title page in the same hand.
In the publisher's original paper wraps, with illustration to front wrap, and advertisements to rear wrap.
Condition
In the publisher's original paper wraps. Wraps detached, lacking majority of back strip. Discolouration and handling marks to wraps, with small closed tears to wrap perimeters. Bookplate to front pastedown. Inscription to front free endpaper. Internally, binding tender. First gathering working loose. Pages 15-18 detached and loosely inserted, and with majority of gatherings working loose. Pages age toned due to paper type, but clean.
