In a half calf prize binding with a gilt crest to the front and rear. Binding by Oxford with their binder's stamp to the front pastedown.
An extensive glossary of Tudor and Stuart words, compiled by the British philologist Walter W. Skeat, and edited with additions by A. L. Mayhew. The work was primarily compiled from the works of dramatists, and provides a history of the English language.
Condition
Bound in half calf with cloth to the boards. Externally excellent with very minimal fading to the spine. Presentation bookplate and binder's stamp to the front pastedown, offsetting to the free endpapers with a bookseller's label to the rear. Internally firmly bound with bright pages with minor spotting to the endpapers, otherwise clean.
