Illustrated with a frontispiece and numerous in-text images. An adventure and historical novel first published in 1883 that tells a story of "buccaneers and buried gold". Set in the 1700s this novel is considered a coming-of-age story and is noted for its atmosphere, characters, and action. Written by Robert Louis Stevenson, a Scottish novelist, essayist, poet and travel writer best known for works such as Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Kidnapped and A Child's Garden of Verses. Illustrated by Walter Stanley Paget, an English illustrator.
Condition
Bound in full calf with gilt. Externally, sound with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and board edges with the odd small mark. Small cracks to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. School prize bookplate to the front pastedown.
