In the publisher's original pictorial cloth, with a colour frontispiece of Notre Dame from the river Seine. Contains all other nineteen charming colour illustrations. Collated complete.
Somerville captures the beautiful style which makes Paris the iconic city that it is, from its glorious art, fashion and theatre, to its grand amusements, food and theater. During the early twentieth century, Paris saw a boom in culture and American visitors, and this book highlights why such was the case.
Condition
In the publisher's original pictorial cloth. Externally, very smart, with the odd faint mark. Slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. A small scratch to picture on front board. Offsetting to end papers. Previous owner's bookplate to front paste down and ink inscription to front free end paper. Internally, firmly bound, with very minor wear to hinge between leaves pp.40-41. Pages are bright and clean, with the rare faint spot to occasional leaf extremities.
