First edition. Very scarce work. A detailed record of the registers of baptisms, weddings, and burials at the parish church of Bolton, a town in Greater Manchester in England, from the year 1573 to 1660. Produced by the Lancashire Parish Register Society, a text publication society and registered charity which was founded for the "purpose of printing the registers of the ancient parishes" in Lancashire. Edited and indexed by Archibald Sparke, a British local historian.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine with light loss to the head and tail. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small handling mark. Previous owner's bookplate and a contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown.
