In the original very scarce unclipped dust wrapper.
File copy, with a stamp to the fore edge, and five letters regarding reviewing this work loosely inserted, to and from John Methven, L. Batho Rawling, and Miss Audrey Ewart King.
Captain C. G. Rawling's vivid account of his travels in New Guinea and his encounters with the native tribes, as well as his exploration of many untouched jungles; he had the first Western encounter with the Tapiro pygmies, and was the first European to reach many of the regions he explored during the expedition.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, one folding map, and thirty-one plates.
Collated, complete.
Two pages of adverts to the rear.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Spine is a little faded. Some light marks to the boards and spine causing a little discolouration. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Spots and stamps to the fore edge. Front hinge is a little strained, the frontispiece is working loose. Light edge wear to the dust wrapper, resulting in a few small closed tears and chips. Spine is age-toned. Light spots to the wraps. Patch of discolouration to the tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with a few scattered spots.
