Illustrated with twenty maps (including a folding frontispiece and five fold-out plates) and fifty-nine plans (sixteen fold-out). Collated, complete.
These 'Baedeker' handbooks, from the company of German publisher Karl Baedeker, set the standard for authoritative guidebooks for tourists. They contain, among other things, maps and information regarding routes, travel facilities, noteworthy sights, attractions and museums, written by specialists.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. With the original dust wrapper, unpriced. Externally, with damp staining to the boards but only minor shelf wear visible. Dust wrapper is age toned, with a few tide marks to the rear panel and wear to the edges, notably to the spine head and tail, resulting in a few closed tears and chips. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with the ink impression of 'Pattie Currie Travel Ltd' to the pastedowns and front free endpaper.
