With the text provided by the illustrator's daughter, Dorothy Menpes.

Illustrated with seventy-five, retaining their original captioned tissue guards. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original decorative cloth binding. Boards bright. Light shelf wear to back strip tail and bump to back strip head. Front hinge strained, but firmly held. Inscription to front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with the odd spot to page perimeters and leaves facing plates.
