Illustrated with a frontispiece and twenty-two figures. Collated complete. A guide to the control and operation of the railway goods station, providing information on the station construction, staffing, instructions to loaders, controller's supervision, daily inspections, duties of the staff, goods checking, handling livestock, and more. With additional chapters on the statistics and emergency processes. Written by Fred W. West, London District Goods Superintendent. Publisher's advertisements to the rear.
Condition
In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Further spotting and light age toning to the endpapers. Author's contemporary ink inscription to the half title with bookseller's label to the front pastedown.
