With the blind stamp 'with Mr Murray's Compliments' to the title page head.
Illustrated with a frontispiece and seven plates by H. Seppings Wright. Collated, complete. Two plates detached, and loosely inserted.
In this work, Ostler provides an account of events in the Turkish and Arab camps during the first six months of the Tripoli campaign, in 'an attempt to give a picture of a strange people amongst whom I have lived for some time'.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with pictorial onlay to front board. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with significant handling marks to perimeters of front board. Front hinge lightly strained, but firmly held. Internally, generally firmly bound, but with two plates detached and loosely inserted. Blind stamp to title page. Pages bright and generally clean, with light handling marks, and instances of pencil notations to margins.
