Illustrated by A. C. Michael with a colour frontispiece, and three monochrome plates. Collated, complete.
Written by H. Rider Haggard (1856-1925), the renowned Victorian author of adventure fiction, and a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. 'Marie' is another of Haggard's 'Allan Quatermain' novels, following his first marriage to a Boer farm girl, a marriage opposed by the bride's family.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with minor fading to the spine, a small closed tear to the head of the front joint, and minimal edge wear with very small closed tear to the tail of the spine. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot, heavier to the front and rear.
