Bound in the publisher's cloth with the vanishingly scarce, unclipped dust wrapper.
Written by British military historian, Sir John William Fortescue, who is best known for this extensive 'History of the British Army', tracing Britain's military from its start until the late 18th century.
This volume contains eighteen maps depicting various campaigns and places of military involvement between 1809 and 1911, including the campaign in Portugal, 1809, Operations in Guadeloupe, 1810, the attacks on Talavera, 1809, among others.
Collated, complete.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light fading to the spine and board extremities. A few light marks and a little bumping to extremities. Bookseller stamp to rear paste down. Dust wrapper is very good, with light edge wear, a little loss to the backstrip head and tail and to the rear panel. Tears to flyleaves. Tape repair to the verso of the backstrip and front flyleaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with light edge wear to tabs.
