Colour Plates, Illustrated

The star of the Gazette was its fashion illustrations. Each issue featured ten fashion plates (seven depicting couture designs and three designed solely by the illustrators).
The prints feature dramatic pochoir colouring, which is created when single layers of colour is added by hand to a lithograph using a stencil.
