Illustrated with a tipped-in colour frontispiece, and twenty-four tipped-in colour plates by George Denholm Armour.
A collection of letters pondering the subject of hunting, written by the renowned huntsman Sir Peter Beckford. The work guides the reader on the art of foxhunting, with an introduction by E. D. Cuming.
Beckford was a landowner and huntsman who is best known for this work, which was originally published in 1781.
Undated, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the British Library.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with the odd mark to the boards. Fading to the spine and to the upper extremities of the front board. Small section of damp staining to the tail of the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with light scattered spotting.
