An illustrated edition, published for the centenary anniversary of the death of the author. First published in 1781. 

Illustrated with thirteen colour plates by George Denholm Armour. Collated, lacking eleven plates.

Bound in full morocco with raised bands and gilt details to the spine. 

This work features a collection of letters on hunting written by Peter Beckford, a British writer and politician and a prominent member of the hunting community. The work covers how to keep and care for hunting hounds and stories and guides to the hunting of dares, foxes and more. 

Undated, dated by a copy held by the British Library.

Condition

Bound in full morocco. Externally smart with the odd slight mark to the boards, and light rubbing to the joints with a crack to the head and tail of the front joint. Lacking front free endpaper. Internally, lacking frontispiece and eleven plates, otherwise firmly bound with light age toning to the extremities, and occasional light spotting, heavier to the rear.
