In the publisher's original cloth. Externally generally smart with fading to the spine, bumping and slight rubbing to the extremities, a closed tear to the tail of the spine and minor marks to the boards and spine. Rear joint tender. Front and rear hinge tender with circulating bookplates for 'W.H. Smith & Sons Circulating Library' to the front pastedown, a small label adhered to the rear pastedown and light marks to the endpapers. Internally generally firmly bound with the odd page starting. Generally bright pages with the odd spot and small closed tear and minor loss to the bottom of the front blank.
