With the very scarce original unclipped dust wrapper.

With a folding frontispiece map of the Mediterranean, thirty-seven maps (two folding and a number of dual-spread) and forty-nine plans (eighteen of which are folding). Collated, complete.

This volume, comprising eighty-five routes, covers Madeira, the Canary Islands, the Coast of Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. This is also the only Baedeker handbook in English containing a description of Constantinople. 

These 'Baedeker' handbooks, from the company of German publisher Karl Baedeker, set the standard for authoritative guidebooks for tourists. They contain, among other things, maps and information regarding routes, travel facilities, noteworthy sights, attractions and museums, written by specialists.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with really only minor shelf wear only. Dust wrapper is edge worn, with sunning to the spine. Spots and faint handling marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot. London and New York publisher's information tipped-in to the title page.
