What Our Customers Say...

Description

The first edition of Letters From Finland by writer and suffragist Rosalind Travers. Published by Kegan, Trench and Trübner in 1911.

Travers writes her letters, written from 1908-1909, with a deep empathy and humorous wit. Partly fictitious, Travers also includes verse that showcases her talent as a poet. Originally travelling there after sympathising with their struggle over Russian rule, Travers gained an affection for the country, especially praising it for its education and strong record for women's rights.

She fell in love with the country so much that she established the Anglo-Finnish Society the same year of publishing, along with fellow women's rights activist Aino Malmberg.
