Illustrated throughout with seventy colour plates with tissue guards, and with one folding map to the rear. Collated complete.
Written by Sir Francis Younghusband, a British Army officer, explorer and spiritual writer. He is remembered for his travels in the Far East and Central Asia.
Illustrated by Edward Mary Joseph Molyneux, a British painter. During his years in the Himalayan Valley of Kashmir, Molyneux painted many scenes of the capital city of Srinagar and other areas which inspired him, many of which are used in this work.
With a charming inscription to the front free endpaper, dated 1920, from Mrs Grant Robertson, who presents this book to William Carbin on the occasion of his marriage.
With an eight page publisher's advertisements to the rear.

Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Bumping to spine head and tail, with minor fading to rear joint. Inscription to front free endpaper. Dust wrapper age toned, with significant closed tear to front joint, and small losses at joint heads and tails. Further loss to head of fold of front flyleaf. Tape repairs to back strip head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with instances of spotting to page perimeters.
